This 300 m² herenhuis, divided over four storeys, is fully redesigned with a functional layout that introduces two unique spatial features. The first is the catwalk closet, which is a solution to the dead-ends that were part of the initial brief of the client. Instead of a big walk-in closet with one entrance, the space gets transformed into a 'backstage' walkway from the bedroom to the office, without creating additional traffic space. The second feature is the 5 meter high sliding door that connects the basement, ground floor and garden into one vertical space. The 3 glass panes can be configured in different settings, allowing the garden to become another room in the house, or to have the house become an extension of the garden.
